Skating in Kent

Ice skating has enjoyed a resurgence of interest lately, this has been aided by transportable ice rinks travelling the country and setting up in areas without a local ice rink. Ice skating offers many disciplines to try from speed skating to figure skating. You’ll get the best out of any of the different styles of skating by getting good instruction and making sure you have the correct equipment. The National Ice Skating Association is a great place to start if you want to get serious about ice skating. NISA can help you get the right training and even help you enter competitions when you are ready. Roller skates are used in many varying styles of skating. Artistic roller skating uses a traditional four-wheel layout. Inline skating, or rollerblading, also utilises four wheels but in an inline layout that mimics an ice skater’s blade. Roller skaters are fortunate that a network of skate parks has grown up for their use around the UK. Despite this there’s still a great attraction to skating in urban areas, especially among some extreme skaters. Many of the established parks try to mimic the challenges posed by urban structures to try and tempt the thrill-seeking skater back into legal territory
