CairnGorm Mountain is a very special and unique place to visit
throughout the year. Located in the heart of the UK's largest National
Park, CairnGorm is Britain's most popular winter snowsports destination with
11 ski lifts including the funicular railway, and over 30km of pisted runs
suitable for beginners to experts.
During the summer months the mountain can be explored several ways. Travel
to just below the summit of Cairn Gorm, Britain's 6th highest mountain on
the UK's highest funicular railway. At the top enjoy the mountain
exhibition, lunch at the Ptarmigan Restaurant and take in the spectacular
panorama from the viewing terrace. Take a Walk @ the Top with a ranger, a
90 minute summit walk starting from the Top Station, walk to the summit and
then take the train back down, or explore the mountain on one of the self
guided trails. There is also a mountain garden to enjoy, a camera obscura,
various exhibitions and two shops selling a large number of mountain
essentials and gift ideas. Whatever the weather, CairnGorm is a great place
to spend the day.
