Moyvalley is best known as the home of a splendid country retreat called the Balyna Estate. Situated at the northern tip of County Kildare, the resort is set in 550 acres of beautiful grounds. It includes a stunning manor house and a sophisticated boutique hotel, both popular for weddings, conferences and corporate events, as well as a variety of holiday apartments and cottages. The estate takes in a championship golf course designed by Northern Ireland sporting hero Darren Clarke. Guests also enjoy long, scenic walks around the lawns and gardens of the estate, and some of the unusual sporting opportunities on offer include archery, clay pigeon shooting and off- road driving. So delightful and relaxing is Moyvalley that visitors may well decide to spend most of their holiday within the resort, although there is plenty to do in the wider world of Kildare. Horse- racing fans may wish to spend a day out visiting some of the country's most famous courses, such as Punchestown, near Naas, or The Curragh, between Newbridge and Kildare Town. Meanwhile, shoppers will have a field day seeking out bargains at the Kildare Village outlet centre, which boasts amazing discounts across more than fifty designer and luxury stores.
