Great Glen is a large village seated in a valley just six miles from Leicester, with a brook and a Norman church, St Cuthbert’s has a square tower and five bells. Wigston Framework Knitters Museum exhibits costumes, textiles and a 17th Century house, including a workshop and frames used to make stockings and gloves. With the Grand Union Canal so close why not walk it’s tow paths and delight in the wildlife and scenery as you watch the boats sail by, or maybe visit Foxton Canal Museum with many exhibits to share, or even pick a winner at Leicester Race Course.
