Much Birch is a tiny village on the A49, northwest of Ross-On-Wye and 6.5 miles south of Hereford in Herefordshire and conveniently located 89 miles from the M50. Nearby, the village of Wormelow is a small museum dedicated to the celebration of the life of Second World War heroine Violet Szabo. There is one pub The Axe & Cleaver, serving home-cooked, traditional food, local cider and welcoming caravans and camping. For those after more luxury, there is the Pilgrim Hotel offering a beautiful 3-star setting in 4 acres of parkland. It is called The Pilgrim due to the fact that it lies on the route that pilgrims took to visit the shrine of St Ethelbert. The hotel boasts an award-winning restaurant and a kitchen garden producing fresh herbs and accompaniments for the restaurant dishes!
