Highcliffe On Sea is a busy and prosperous village, located at the
very Eastern edge of Dorset. Nestling on the coast, with The New
Forest close by inland, it has unspoiled and undeveloped cliffs and
beaches, with uninteruppted views of the Western Isle Of Wight.
The consistently excellent sea water quality and quiet beaches attract
many visitors in the summer months, and the sixteen wildlife sites,
nature reserves, and SSSIs in the area, attract people for most of the
year.
There are three local holiday parks, and many excellent guest houses,
B&Bs, hotels, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars to cater for the
visitors.
Because of it's position, being mostly surrounded by higher ground,
Highcliffe has an excellent climate, with milder winters and less
rainfall that many other South Coast locations, making it a target for
people looking for an ideal place to retire, especially as the crime
rate is extremely low.
However, neighbouring Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Lymington ensure
that lively entertainment and night life is always available nearby.
Highcliffe On Sea has just about everything a resident or visitor
