The picturesque hamlet of Ashorne lies around 5 miles east of Stratford in the county of Warwickshire. With its small village green the village has a number of pretty cottages, some with thatched roofs, that add to the overall sense of Englishness in this rural idyll.
Think of a small English hamlet on a warm summers afternoon and the chances are that somewhere in those thoughts, along with the village green, are those of the village cricket team – Ashorne has the cricket ground with the ubiquitous bench set beneath the shade of a horse chestnut tree, and in fact you could well be picturing Ashorne in your mind’s eye.
