Ashington is a pleasant rural village in the county of West Sussex, it's positioned between the seaside resort of Worthing and nearby town of Horsham, and is home to over two thousand three hundred people. The village has an interesting history which stretches far back into history to the bronze Age settlers who first chose to live here, then the Romans who engineered the Green Sand Way road to the south of the village, and the Roman villa sited to the north, and later when it was once a welcome stop on the coaching route from Worthing to London during the 19th Century. There is a mixture of houses, and buildings from across the ages, and an impressive 15th Century flint church, and although it was greatly altered in the 19th century there is still a wealth of treasures inside the church that is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul. This multiple award winning village has shops on offer, a welcoming pub, and a choice of places to stay. It's surrounded by picturesque countryside, and with the glorious South Downs nearby there is always the chance to explore pleasurable walks along the many footpaths which uncover memorable wildlife.
