Born 1895. Died 1977 - Scottish Air Chief Marshal, responsible for planning Dambuster raid.
Educated at Royal Naval College at Osborne and Dartmouth. During WWI transferred to Royal Flying Corps. One of the officers responsible for Air Power policy. During WWII was Commander of 5 Group, responsible for heavy bombing against Germany industry including the Dambuster raid.
