Born 1919. Died 1995 - English stage and film actor.

Served in the RAF during WWII then returned to stage. Worked in Birmingham and at the Bristol Old Vic before achieving success in Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker. Appeared frequently on television and in films including Dr Crippen (1962), Your Only Live Twice (1967) and Halloween (1978).
