Loughborough English Food and Drink Festival
The two-day Loughborough English Food and Drink Festival features a market packed with tasty goodies from across the country, bringing together the best traditional English produce from each region.
“Shoppers have a big appetite for regional food and drink, and Loughborough English Food and Drink Festival will bring together Britain’s love of traditional markets with the opportunity for people to buy some excellent regional products,” said Jo Taylor, events co-ordinator of East Midlands Fine Foods which is running the event on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council.
“Seasonal entertainment will be on offer, including cooking demonstrations, and we’re hoping to create a great family atmosphere.”
The festival in Loughborough’s Market Place will feature up to 150 stalls and will run from 10am to 4pm on both days. It is due to sell a range of tasty goodies – from pickles and pies, to cheeses and chutneys, and from sausages and cider, to cakes and coffees.
Artisan producers from across England are expected to take part in the event, which is one of four similar food and drink festivals being organised for Loughborough during the year.
East Midlands Fine Foods, which supports speciality food and drink producers across the region, has run the monthly two-day Regional and Speciality Food and Drink Market in Nottingham, in conjunction with Nottingham City Council, for almost four years.
