BOOK SOMERSET HOTELS

East Lyn River, Somerset | Devon

The East Lyn is a river that flows from Exmoor in Somerset to the Bristol Channel in the south west of England. The river is formed high in Somerset and here it is known as the Upper East Lyn at Malmsmead. Two minor tributaries, the Oare Water and Badgeworthy Water, join here to form the Upper East Lyn. This then flows on past Brendon and there is a confluence with Hoar Oak Water at the aptly named Watersmeet . The East Lyn then passes through a narrow gorge before meeting with the West Lyn River. After this meeting it flows on and into the Bristol Channel at Lynmouth .
