Review of Alford by Mrs Linda Coleman on June 24th, 2007
Visited Claythorpe Watermill and Wild fowl Gardens on Friday while on holiday in Lincolnshire. We were very disappointed and distressed at the condition of one of the owls and the red squirrel. The owl had no plummage around its neck and was pecking at the wing that was matted and dirty. There was dirty water in the cages, ( we got there at 14:30 and I doubt very much if the water was new that day. The red squirrel was pacing up and down very rapidly turning and turning again, backwards and forwards. The pond where we were supposed to be able to feed the fish was as green and murky as I have ever seen-impossible to see any fish at all. The seals had very little water to play in and looked lethargic. There was no one to be seen to talk to. We left immediately. Please can someone check this place out as we are very concerned for the welfare of the animals. Many thanks Linda Coleman
