Good Points: Excellent breakfast - well cooked Bad Points: The evening meal had to be sent back and replaced by another dish as the first one [steak and Adnam's pie] was not really edible. The apple crumble was not cooked through whilst the Brulee was small and was unlike any dessert of that name. General review: Very pleasant appart from the evening meal

Good Points: The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel facilities were quiet very relaxing, the grounds were very pleasant to sit in and would be great in the summer. Bad Points: the menu was good but restrictive, the opportunity to eat in the restaurant would have been nice but not possible due to; used for a function, fully booked, General review: Very nice and I would stay again.

Good Points: Lovely hotel, room and grounds. Bad Points: Check in could have been a bit earlier. General review: We were very impressed with the hotel, the building itself and the lovely grounds. The family room we stayed in great, and we were very impressed that it was on two floors which gave us all more privacy (there were three of us adults sharing the room). The breakfast was lovely too - it made a nice change to be able to order cooked breakfasts from a menu rather than having the typical buffet. It was a shame we didn't have more time to spend at the hotel, as we were only really stopping over to attend a nearby wedding.

Arrived in the bar and a regular advised my girlfriend and I that there were bad reviews regarding this establishment on the web,in that it was a lovely building etc but don't eat there! Should have taken this advice: we ordered game pie what we got were individual pies with thin burnt non- descript pastry on top filled with venison and a thin gravy tasting overwelming of rosemary (better description was venison pie)but vegetables good, I have frequented this esablishment over the years sadly this is a beautiful old building crying out for a decent chef, have had some good meals in the past but is very hit and miss.Would advise others to go only if they are hungry and desperate!!

Myself and my Wife and the privilege of staying at this wonderful hotel, the service and food was 1st class but at bed and breakfast prices. Credit goes to the management for having such a wonderful team working for them. The room we stayed in was in the coach house and was very clean and tidy..5 star rating from us. we are looking forward to a return journey.
