The best bit were the ducks. The cafe food promised juicy, scrumptious and aromatic sausages, but we were delivered a soggy vegetable dumpling in a cylindrical shape, with the strangest tasting potato at the extortionate price of £16.50 for 2 plates! The mill was interesting, but it was a shame it appeared to become run down. Many of the demonstrations were not working properly, with handles etc missing. And the school room was splattered with the faeces of pidgeons which makes you wonder what the £3.50 per person (which goes to the society that runs the place) is actually spent on! As it is obviously not cleaning or maintenance.

Arriving at 10.30am, we sampled the excellent aromatic Free Trade coffee and fresh cherry scones in the Country Parlour cafe. We visited all the craft workshops and particularly enjoyed watching the blacksmith working iron in the Mill Forge. Shopping here is a really pleasant experience. So many lovely gifts in the craft shop within our price range (not huge) and also some individual and unique pieces in the galleries that, although we loved looking at, we can only dream about. We didn't go in the Mill - we are saving that until our next visit.
