Staff are not very friendly, quite rude and abrupt really, seem extremely full of themselves, got the impression they were looking down on me.

We had just arrived London, checked into the hotel and were craving indian food. We asked the hotel concierge for an Indian/Pakistani restaurant nearby, he suggested this restaurant that was 5 minutes of a walk from our hotel. 1. Food - We ordered the lamb biryani, lamb chops, chicken shish, and naans. The food was extremely over-priced and the quality was not that great either. The lamb chops that they rave about were not cooked properly. I found the meat to be quite dry and stiff. The lamb biryani contained extremely over-powering spices (loads of garam masala). Don't get me wrong, I love spicy food, but the balance of spices was completely out of order here. The only food item that we liked were the naans. We managed to finish the food as we were starved after our journey. 2. Wait time - horrible, our food arrived after waiting for over 45 minutes. 3. Service - dismal, the owner/waiter (man dressed in a suit and tie did not have any table manners) and 2 other girls (wait staff) kept on hovering around our table for no reason and just staring at us. It does not matter what part of the world you are from, I found this kind of behavior to be extremely rude and interrupting. Due to jet lag I was very thirsty, all I wanted was plain water with my food and heard the owner from a distance making fun of my ordering tap water in a derogatory manner. Little did he know that I know hindi/urdu and very well understood each and every word coming out of his mouth. Moreover, they seemed to be over-staffed for the limited number of tables that were occupied by customers. 4. Atmposphere/location: no music, tight space for larger groups, restaurant name not displayed outside the building (poor signage). Reasonable wait time: NO Good for kids/family friendly: NO Good for groups: NO Service: Hopelessly horrible Rude owner/wait staff: YES Next time I visit London, would not go to Salloo's again and would not recommend it to anyone else either.
