I genuinely cannot believe the experience I have had thanks to the amicable, balanced John, the Restaurant Director. My wife is 7 months pregnant and decided not to go out for supper. I forgot to call and cancel. I get called at 2300 by John, asking where we were, I apologized and went to explain my mistake and the event and he puts the phone down on me. He then prank calls me over 15 times in the following half an hour and threatens me by text. I am completely disgusted with this behaviour and would never give my money to a “man” like this however good the food was meant to be.

I am astonished at the poor reviews which I have read. We have been to the restuarant many times and have never been disappointed. In June we arranged a birthday lunch for two senior members of the family and the staff could not have been nicer nor could the management made more of an effort to ensure we had a very special day. We eat out quite a bit and I am very fussy but The Leatherne Bottle is perfect.

Food tasty - but tiny portions. Staff friendly but not engaging; it seemed a chore for them to serve you. Slightly off hand. Very expensive, and very poor value for money. Cheese course portions were tiny and grudgingly given. Main course - delicious. but for £21 each expected more. Overall, great location next to Thames - but that's what your're paying for I guess. The food is good - but way over priced - so poor value - and service is indifferent - would we go back again ? - absolutley not - unless the prices were halved - if we'd have paid £75 for the two of us tonight we'd have thought okay that's fine. But having paid double that it certainly was not value for money. Avoid at all costs.

Very expensive for what it was. Rickety old table hidden by table cloth but very annoying. Staff not very attentive and definite lack of atmosphere. Wouldn't go back.

i found the food nice and the appertisers were rather filling, however the atmopshere of the place seemed a little tense... the chefs could be heard shouting through the kitchen doors.. and the cutlery wasnt very clean. the manager seemed to busy with re-arranging tables than to check everyone was ok.
