I must say this is the best restaurant ever, no baltis or oily food on the menu just freshly cooked healthy indian food and very good portions and value for money, great atmosphere, great service from the wonderful waiters. They also have a good vegetarian section which i find not many restaurants cater for vegetarians. But on the whole myself and friends will certainly be going there again.

I went to this restaurant for the first time. The reception was friendly, but very pushy to purchase drinks from the bar. We were kept in the waiting area until our food was ready for about 30minutes, although the restaurant was more than half empty. I think this was a ploy for us to buy more drinks. However, the food was excellent and certainly worth going. However, the portions are extremely small (about 1/2 a normal Indian restaurant) and more expensive. But the quality was excellent, the food was not laden with oil as in other Indian restaurants and it was quite tasty.

The best Indian restaurant around. Don't expect curry at this restaurant, these guys use spices and more spices. What a wonderful meal, everytime I'm in Stoke, I'm here. It can be difficult to find (even with satnav), but well worth the trouble. The staff are infomative and friendly, great sevice.

In response to Paul, I certainly agree that service was dire during a short period at The Elms, however, after finding out the manager had been fired, and returning this April, everything was just amazing once again! The food, service, warmth and atmosphere were all as they were last August, simply fantastic. I sincerely recommend a second visit if you visited during the period of new management (whom I shall emphasise have left)...The Elms is once again a star in my eyes!

Never again. We went for a meeting and a meal with work colleagues. The meeting room was cold and there was no light in upstairs gents toilet. Despite being there for two hours prior to the meal time, we waited a long time to start eating. Poppadoms and chutneys were served without plates to eat them off, there was another long delay for the starter, plates were put on the table with a small amount of salad on and then removed two minutes later, food and plates were served across the table, the food was lukewarm. Certainly very poor service, I expect to see Basil Faulty on the way out.
