We had the most awful experience with this pub: we'd booked a big party for sunday lunch with various family members, and asked for a high chair for my one year old son. When we arrived, he was asleep, so we put him in the pushchair and went in. We were barely over the threshold when the landlord shouted (in front of everyone) 'NO PUSHCHAIRS ALLOWED'. He wouldn't let us come in and it completely ruined our plans for a Sunday lunch. Don't even think of going here if you have kids!!

From begining to end total disaster, waiting on staff, unprofessional, arogant and unhelpful. Food is under average, surrandings very beatiful, but what is about it.

Has new owners now so we shall see. Always been excellent for food and more fun in the summer when the Polo Club visitors are around. Traditional, comfortable and good food. Plenty of parking Good wine

First visit and initial felings exceeded expectations. The sound of a Jazz trio playing good music at right sound level added further to our enjoyment and reduced the annoying chat from a neighbouring table.Local lamb rump was succulent and tender although accompanying root veg was overcooked.Chefs beef & ale pie was very tasty and easy to see why its so popular. The side order of Chunky chips were more like roast potatoes, but fresh and crispy outside with fluffy centres.Prices are high and service is low.Lots of staff folding serviettes but no one seeing to customers needs.Apart from service a good night out thanks to live music.
