I visited this Antique shop today, as part of a day out.
Having gone into the Shop and seen four interesting pieces of "Royal Worcester" I decided to buy them at a total cost to both my Civil partner and myself £200.00.
I then saw a very pretty signed William Moorcroft Vase, which I decided to buy, unfortunately on leaving the shop I noticed that a small part of the glazing was missing, rendering the Item of a value much less than I had paid.
I then took the piece back and showed the lady who sold it to me and she agreed to refund in full...Fine! then I was explaining in the car to my Partner about the other William Moorcroft vase that I had seen, at which he said " lets go back and have a look"
This we did and although under poor lighting this larger vase looked very nice, we paid another £100.00 extra and bought this one for the sum of £295.00, total expenditure thus far £495.00.
On closer inspection of the afore mentioned vase in daylight, this proved to be completely crazed, also rendering the Vase practically worthless, at this I went back yet again in the shop and explained the situation, at this, the Ladies Husband or business partner, whatever, jumped up and said "I WILL REFUND THIS VASE AND I NEVER WANT YOU IN THIS SHOP AGAIN!!!
Having already spent a total of £200.00 in the shop, prior to this loss of temper.
So buyer's be aware, be very aware of both the items for sale in this shop and be very aware of this the totaly disgusting and violent behaviour of the man who sits in the corner...in fact having been in the Antiques Trade for over 35 years now, I would suggest that as a friendly warning, KEEP WELL AWAY FROM RECESS ANTIQUES, St MARYS STREET BRIDGNORTH, SHROPSHIRE, as I have NEVER EVER been spoken to with such ignorance and ANIMOSITY in all my life. Take my advice and keep well away from the place and keep to the Main Streets.
