On arrival at Roydon Mill staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The luxury lodge was spotlessly clean and well kitted out. Roydon is advertisd as being near a railway station so am amazed when people complain about train noise. Roydon is an excellent base for a family to stay if you intend visiting London. We went into London every day and the train service was excellent. It was great to come back and relax in the hot tub after a busy day out!

Myself and three friends spent our New Year at Roydon Mill and had a wonderful time. It was so well organised, the hot and cold buffet was excellent with a good choice. We were entertained by Vanity Fair (a 60s group)and a DJ, who were both very good. Our motel room was small but very clean and nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. Just one drawback, Roydon Mill wasn't easy to find in the dark, as there were hardly any signs until you were virtually there. Also, Reception wasn't easy to find as we drove straight by, so this could do with better and clearer signs.

I stayed in one of the luxury lodges at Roydon Mill, and I have to say they are fantastic, what a setting, i went with my husband and the kids and we went for a walk around the park, the children had room to run and play without getting in anyones way (we have stayed on several holiday parks across the UK and they are all on top of each other) we went into the bar for a meal and even though they do not have a childrens menu, they made us smaller meals for the children. I can say that we will be returning to stay again and the staff are very nice even when I explained there was no where in the Lodge to to dry my hair with a mirror and plug near each other. we are definatly coming back next year

We visited Roydon Mill Leisure Park August Bank holiday weekend. We thought the campsite was in a truly beautiful setting, right next to the canal with fishing lake. The train lines do run alongside the campsite behind the trees and they do pass through regularly but to be quite honest we got used to them whistleing past and it just became part of the camping experience at Roydon Mill. The entertainment looked good but unfortunately we could not get in to the club- one thing not mentioned on the internet or by the staff who took the booking is that there is a "no jeans" policy which, seemed rather excessive for a camp site! There is a £5.00 fee to go into the entertainment clubhouse which we were willing to pay. All in all- we had a great time and will definately go back. We have older children who came with us.

If you are looking for a nice short break away with your children do not go to this site. Although we new there was not much to do on the site we took lots to amuse ther children and all was fine. The attitude of the staff is the worst I have ever expierienced in all my life. Never before have I come across such a rude bunch of people. They must be really badly managed to be that un happy in thier jobs that they have to spoil peoples holidays with their poor attitude. I would like to say visit because the settings are very pretty but don't never again will myself or anyone I know go near the place because Roydon does not like people to enjoy their holiday's.

What a lovely campsite. However, one thing not mentioned- the fact that there's a railway running right next to the campsite, very close to the tents, trains went past every 5 minutes until midnight and again at 5am onwards. It was far to noisy and we couldn't sleep. Our plan was to spend 3 nights there, but we left after one night. The staff were very friendly though and gave us a refund. Aparently, some people are oblivious to the noise, i can't see how that could be! The childs play area is good but could do with replacing or a lick of paint. The beach existed but no sign of pedaloes to hire. The shop was a fair way away to, not onsite.
