We had a short stay of 4 nights at The Grove Ferry Inn after christmas. Our room was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty and good value for money. The open log fires in the restaurant and lounge were beautifull. We have enjoyed our staying at The Grove Ferry Inn and planned returning in spring for walking around the beautifull landscape alongside the river Stour.

After a couple of mediocure experiences I was glad to find that the Grove Ferry is now under new management, The service has been sharpened up and the range of food was enticing and what we had was tasty and good value for money. We will certainly be returning and wish the new owners the best of luck.

Oh why, why, why have you ruined what used to be a lovely pub to visit ? The open log fire in the middle of the room was so inviting on a cold winter's night. What a pity places have to be modernised.

I was very disappointed on my visit to Grove Ferry Inn. On arrival we were made aware of a private function meaning our access to certain areas were restricted, as i had never been and my partner had, naturally they wanted to show me around the beautiful areas. After some debate we decided to stay and have lunch, to which we then found out that card payments service was not working, we had driven 45 minutes to enjoy the much spoken about Grove Ferry Inn and I didn't even get to try it. Very beautiful surroundings and I'm sure we'll try too visit again soon.

A very pleasant day was had by all the family on a beautiful summers day. The food was just sublime and served by friendly and cleanly dressed staff (makes a change). My wife likes fish and she was pleasantly suprised by the variety of dishes. Our children loved the play area and feeding the ducks by the river. All in all we had a terrific afternoon at the Grove Ferry.

I chose the Grove Ferry Inn to mark my 80th Birthday with my wife daughter niece and her husband.I was surprised to see how everything had changed.Although advised it was a special occasion no attempt had been made to decorate the table. The food was VERY poor and not cheap. Snapper,Monk Fish Tails,Liver and Sole. The food was served without table napkins and the priorty seemed to be getting you to drink as much as possible. A Very disappointing meal. Todate I have had no response to a letter I wrote. As things stand I will never return or recommend eating there. Customer Relations does not appear on your menu

In general the restaurant was fairly good with a good varied array of food athough there was little choice of desserts. The main downfall of the restaurant was that service was exceedingly slow and most of the food we recieved was cold and bland. The other major problem was the extremely friendly waitress who after only 10 minutes had decided she was our long lost friend and managed to spend hours talking to us instead of deliverin our food on time. I would recommed this restaurant to people who enjoy good well cooked food and even though The Grove Ferry Inn has its faults it still is worth a visit if you are in the area even if only for their crispy mash potato balls!!( they are to die for!!)
