It must be a long time since your review. The soup was tasteless until laced with too much salt and pepper the salmon was cooked to destruction with an accompanying scattering of chewy prawns, the turkey was over cooked the roast potatoes tasteless, the stuffing granite. The dishes of vegetables was overcooked. The menuu was three courses for £12.50 for which we expected small portions but there is no excuse for such poor cooking. There was only keg John Smiths beer and a pint (well 80% but was too thirsty to wait for a top up) plus a glass of cooking red wine was £6.35. Tried a glass of red and one of white thereafter and two small glasses were £8.25 lousy value. We couldn't face a dessert of a similar standard and left only to be charged for three courses in spite of having complained about the quality as several others in our party were doing. It is a while since we were at this resturaunt and itr will be even longer before we return, there are plenty more places offering better quality and value in Cheshire

we had heard the foxcote was an excellent restaurant to eat at we found not. we arrived at 7:00 pm on saturday night. we chose are meal scollops and soup, and duck and steak. we soon found that after waiting half an hour for our starters that we had been served the wrong dish parfait instead of scollops so we then had to wait again. not a good start to the meal. the drinks we had ordered had still not come also not very pleased. when are mains had arrived i had asked for it medium it was well done i told a waiter and he took it back he then came back and told me the chef said it was medium you

We have been to the foxcote a number of times now and everytime the food and atmosphere lives up to our expectations. The food was truly fantastic - we had scallops/prawns to start and then lobster and surf and turf for main. This was surf and turf with a difference though - fillet steak, with 1/2lobster and monkfish tails. We also took my four yr old daughter with us and she was made very welcome (she was very well behaved though) All in all this is a fantastic place to eat, especially if you enjoy fish and I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

We have had 2 excellent meals at the foxcote and always found the food and quality of service first class. The staff are very friendly and really accommodating. Good selection of wine - house wine has been exceptional on both occasions. Great Sunday roast! Taking the family and friends for Christmas celebration in a couple of weeks & very much looking forward to it.

We had heard, by word of mouth, that this was a good place to eat.My wife Linda, Brother-in-law Cliff and myself decided to give it a go! We were made welcome on arrival and were pleasantly surprised by the scope of the menu boards. We were actually spoiled for choice!! The starters we chose were excellent and substantial. The main courses were superb and also substantial. House wine was better than many we have had in fancy restaurants. The only "slight" criticism was that the young ladies on the bar were swamped by the number of diners who were ordering drinks, then ordering their meals. This led to a rather long wait for drinks. Perhaps a separate food ordering station would help to speed things up somewhat. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience, one which we will definitely repeat. Go on,try it, you won't be disappointed!!

Further to other reviews for this restaurant, our experience was totally different. We were all placed in a dismal annexe of the restaurant (adjacent to the ladies loo!). This room was in obvious need of some decoration, with picture fade marks clearly evident on the bare, dull walls. Our starters arrived (scallops), was not upto expectation, with just a few tiny scallops on a large shell and grilled with cheddar cheese! Definitely not worth the price! Our main course was equally as unimpressive in both looks and taste. By the time we had finished our main course, I was asked by the waitress if we had enjoyed our meal. I explained that it was not the dining experience I had expected and the food was mediocre and lifeless. We were informed that the information we had provided would be passed to the manager. Consequently, we decided to finish our meal at this point and move on. To my amazement, when we came to pay, we were informaed that the mananger had decided not to discount the experience and did not even bother to either make an appearance in person or to offer a cup of coffee as compensation. Consequently we had ended up with a poor dining experience, poor food and overcharged to boot!! Not at all impressed and definitely not recommended.

This was our first visit, the children were away and my husband said he'd take me out for a meal and that he'd heard from a few of his clients (he drives a taxi - Turner Travel) that this was an excellent seafood restaurant. The recommendations were certainly right, we had THE BEST meal we've had out for ages... the scallops, lobster, cod & wine... absolutely excellent, I would (& have) recommend this to everyone!

Superb Seafood Restaurant I took the lovely lady for her birthday meal and found it to be excellent, What got me was the lack of menus, all the meals were on 4 blackboards and depended on what was caught the day before. I had the mussels to start and she had the smoked salmon, then we both had the Lobster for a main (well it was her birthday). All told it came to £57 including 3 drinks Which for what we had I found excellent value for money. Definitely going again soon.
