A lovely place with good ambience and character. Unfortunately totally ruined by poor service - the staff do not know how to attend to their customers even to the point of denying that items on the menu exist when they are in print. The chef does not know what a medium rare steak is. However other dishes were very well presented and cooked. The feel is of owners who know how to make a place look good but do not have the people skills to know relate to their customers personally. They also need an extra waiter/waitress. Too few staff doing too much. If these things don't bother you then go for it, but don't make the extra journey to travel up there if you want to feel you are the customer who is paying for the privelege. The wine and beer is well selected and very reasonably priced. Mixed feelings then but left feeling dissapointed - it promises a lot more than it delivers.
