Oh dear, Oh dear! Would have loved to see the pub and sample the drink or even the food, but as we parked outside the pub (where there were another five or six cars parked, I hasten to add!) someone came bursting out of the front door to tell us we couldn't park there because it had to be kept clear for access! Access for what? Herds of wandering elephants on a night march? No, we would have to make our disabled passenger walk from the rain soaked car park some way away. I think not! For those able-bodied people, however, I'm sure the place is fine. We will never know!

Having always lived in or near Trent and currently in my mid 20's, I had grown tired at tales of 'the good old days' with car parks bulging, roads congested by customers' parked cars, free flowing ale accompanied with fantastic food and great bar staff........... I never actually beleived any of these tales; how could the pub I had grown up to know as lethargic and ramshackle have drawn crowds from far and wide night after night? Well, now I've seen it with my own eyes.......... the car park is already warn out, such has been the volume of customers in the past few months.......... thankfully the staff are anything but worn out, offering great food, reasonably priced beer and even the odd live band. Finally I have a village pub I can be proud of and no longer do I have to drag weekend guests through the lanes to Corton Denham for fear of putting them off visiting again......... hats off Stuart and Heather, you've brought back the good old days!!

I know I am probably a bit bias as I have known Heather, who is the new land lady for the past year, but this truly is one of the best pub meals I have ever had. She is a fantastic Chef and with her in the kitchen and stuart at the front of house to meet and greet makes a perfect team. At a set price of £8.95 bought me a two course sunday afternoon roast and £11.95 bought my partner's 3 course meal. It was delicious, we could have been dining at the Ritz and not known the difference! The presentation was immaculate and the combination of flavours, and expert cooking and service was amazing. The value for what you get is unbelivable............... I can't boast enough, only say go and try for yourself. What a refreshing change after the pub having such a poor management over the last few years. Finanly, Trent has made it. Good on you!
