This is one of our favourite restaurants to eat at. The food is of a high quality and they are not tiny portions. The atmosphere is always relaxed and we have found staff to be efficient. In fact on one visit a button came off my new coat and I couldn't find it on the floor. I got a phone call 2 days later from a member of staff who had found it, looked up my number from the reservation made and offered to post it back to me!! The wine list is varied and affordable and the restaurant is also welcoming to children. The only slight criticism I have is that the desserts are not quite upto the same standard as the starters and mains but generally a starter and main is enough for me.

We were given menus & told to take a seat in the bar area - half an hour later no-one had come back to us to take our order for our meals, so we had to find someone to tell them we were ready. We decided to sit in the restaurant rather than the bar area for our meals, to find we were the only people in there the whole time we were there - very uncomfortable & quiet. Then when our starters came - my Thai Mussels were cold but overcooked & plasticy, the liver pate was just defrosted it was so cold. Then the main meals were all served on freezing cold plates - 2 of us ordered steak. 1 was supposed to be rare/medium - it was almost well done & bland. The other was supposed to be rare - it was more than medium cooked & bland. The jenga chips were greasy & soggy & the veg was practically raw. Then the sticky toffee pudding & custard was ordered for dessert - again served on cold dishes & the pudding had obviously just been quickly de-frosted. Overall everything was very bland & not cooked as requested. For the price paid it was definately a let down especially as it should have been a celebratory meal for my Father's retirement. I would not visit this establishment again.
