The most awful meal we have ever had! Should have know when we watched the bar maid pour a tonic water instead of lemonade and then use the excuse that the lemonade had ran out! It took NEARLY TWO HOURS to put some lettuce on a plate topped with stale bread and inedible chicken! Having sent the chicken back it returned no more than 30 seconds later exactly the same. The chips were greasy and cold and the vegetables were wilted and, no word of a lie, ICE COLD (albeit in places). The waitress kindly knocked the salad off the bill but gave no apology and blamed us for "lack of communication". In the end we felt it was necessary to pay the remainder of the bill and leave having not finished our meals. To make things worse, the lady who claimed to be in charge told us she would be happy if we didn't visit again! Don't worry, we won't.

We absolutely love this place! The pub has such a friendly feel to it. The meals are always superb here - I can especially recommend the steak... it just melts in your mouth! Oh, and the new fine dining menu is just to die for! I could eat there every night of the week!! They have a fine choice of wines and always do a perfect real ale. This is by far the best pub/restaurant for miles.

party of 4 - we all enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere, although it was a tuesday night the restaurant was quite busy. One of our party has already been back with a party of relations and I shall be returning late october with a party of 12. I would happly recommend anyone to try this comfortable and well kept Inn.

A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A HOUSE IN THE AREA AND VISITED TWICE IN A WEEK AFTER A RECOMMENDATION. WHAT AN INTRODUCTION TO A NEW AREA AND WHAT A LOVELY FRIENDLY STAFF- ESPECIALLY ROB THE CHEF WHO TAKING NOTE OF OUR PREFERENCES ADAPTED HIS MENU TO SUIT US. WE WIL RETURN AGAIN IN OCTOBER AND HAVE PASSED ON THE RECOMMENDATION TO OTHER FRIENDS WHO ALL HAVE FOUND THE PLACE AS WE DID. A DELIGHT .

This was my first visit to the pub after being recommended by a friend. I found the owners to be very pleasant and welcoming and the overall atmostphere a friendly one. The staff were very good, polite and professional and the pub itself was clean and inviting. The food was excellent, the breakfast was superb especially the poached eggs! I will definately be visiting again.

We were on the next table to Neller who wrote the review and we had a fantastic meal, there was a problem we believe the chef had dropped there meal, not unheard off, but they were rude, and in my oppinion totaly out for what they could get.The new chef and owners are a great improvement on the old.We stopped going in there, but now we will use it more often.I say do go give it a whirl, there loos are great, clean and inviting there food is good and well priced.contented Justin.......

If you are thinking about visiting this pub for a meal then I would advise you to go elsewhere. We have been twice now in the past few months and even though our table was booked for 8.15pm we had to wait for over an hour for out starters (and on the second visit they managed to misread pate and give us stuffed mushrooms!!). The food isn't that brilliant and they think that it is OK to have a disclaimer on the menu stating that all food is freshly cooked and so you may have to wait a little longer for it. But we think that waiting an houir is exessive. They did apologise but we won't be going back

Having heard that it had recently changed hands we went for lunch. Excellent food and decor and the toilets have been completely refurbished. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food cooked fresh to order. We shall return.

A disaster! Empty car park should have told us. Overcooked fish, really really vile sauces, no wine list offered, very poor reception of a complaint. What sort of chef cannot cook haddock? It used to be really good value but I would not go again now if you paid me.
