Sad to see the present reviews of this establishment as I had my best meal there during a month's stay in the UK in 1989. It was a Garlic Prawn & Avocado Cheese Bake. Superb! The Guv & staff were great and I remember a remarkable parrot which held centre stage. I stayed the night & accommodation was fine. I've tried to recreate the bake many times since (the recipe was a chef's secret) and eventually I got it right. Obviously a lot has changed in 23 years!

We atrrived at 5.30pm after going bowling with some friends in boston and we had decided that we would stop off at this pub on our way back and we got told to sit at any vacant table. We got our menu's at 5.45pm then eventualy got asked what we wanted at 5.55pm, it took 30mins for our food to be brought to us so i expected that it was going to be a good meal but unfortunately it wasn't we all had ordered spaghetti and the pasta was all sticky and the bolognaise had odviously been microwaved as it had no flavour and was slightly cold. We then waited 20mins for the dessert menu and in the end my husband went to the bar to ask for one but the bar man was very rude and said "if you'll be patient I will get someone to bring it over to you!" we then decided that we had, had enough so we left.

We arrived at 12.25 for a 12.30 booking and, approaching the bar were told "your's is one of those two tables". We ordered a drink and sat at a table. 20 minutes later we were given a menu of specials. 10 minutes later we were asked what we would like to eat. 15 minutes later our meal arrived - now 45 minutes after arriving. Having eaten our main course we then waited a further 30 minutes to receive the dessert menu. In the end we decided to leave as there was no sign of any menu. The guy behind the bar desparately needs a course at charm school and he was more concerned with cleaning ash trays in the smoking area than clearing and assisting dining customers. Other people who arrived after us were served and had left. NOT the place if you are in any kind hurry and, frankly the food was not worth the wait.
