My wife and I visited Nailcote Hall for the "Acoustic Collection" evening. Our first impression was of a warm, welcoming, building with friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a very enjoyable meal fresh, well cooked, hot and with a good choice of courses. The entertainment was excellent but much to brief. This was not helped by the fact that, though stated to start at 7.30 it was almost 11 o'clock by the time coffee was served.Together with the exorbitant price of drinks,£21 for a bottle of ordinary wine for example, did knock the gloss off an otherwise pleasant evening.

Lovely hotel with great food but ... Unfortunately the small bar area in the old part was the only smoking area and that was always full of people from wedding parties. It is advertised as one of the most romantic hotels. We felt in the way and the only place we could sit and relax was really in the room. Although that had been booked as a smoking room, we were informed on arrival that apparently all rooms were now non-smoking so we had to resort to standing outside in the doorway in the rain. This was a requirement requested when booking 6 months in advance as smoking rooms were advertised as available. We had no knowledge of the change until we arrived. More milk was requested for the tea/coffee making facitilities in the room and that took 11 hours. Room service (although an excellent meal) took nearly two hours. I agree, lovely for a wedding reception, but not really impressed with the way other people who were staying in the hotel were catered for.

I attended a wedding at the hotel. Everything was fantastic. The venue is excellent with beautiful surroundings. The food was first class with, service to match, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were lovely with all the facilities needed. The best thing about the place is without doubt the people who work there. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very friendly and genuinely pleased to be of service and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would not hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone .

"The room was lovely, the staff were very pleasant and the service great.",,"The hotel was lovely and the service was very good. All of the staff were very pleasant. We used the swimming pool and enjoyed it very much. Some of the information in the hotel book was a bit inconsistent, for e.g. it said in the book that breakfast had to be ordered before 1 am and then said 3 am on the door handle sheet. Since we only stayed one night it would have been preferable to be able to book out at 2 pm rather than 11 am. It would also be nice to have breakfast a bit later."
