My wife and I visited early on a wet dismal Sunday evening after being advised by a local person that this was a good place to eat. There was an open fire in a great hearth and we were able to take our pick of the tables. We chose from the day's 'specials' that were chalked on a blackboard. Our food was freshly cooked and extremely good. We started with a hearty bowl of home made chicken and sweet corn soup that came with a bowl of bread. As a Londoner I was 'blown away' away by the large sized main course portions and the accompanying choice of vegetables that comprised separate dished of potatoes and cauliflower in a gratin, chips and a bowl of mixed garden vegetables. The staff were friendly and efficient and our visit was was one of the highlights of our weekend in the area..

Nice pub with lovely food. We had the dog with us after a walk, so had to sit outside, as dogs arent allowed, but when it started raining lightly they let us in. The food was served quickly, and was delicious. The portions are large so dont go expecting a light bite! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would definatley go again if in the area.
