I have to say that I cannot recommend anybody visit this Pub. The pub, while it is aesthetically "pretty" on the exterior, it is however very bland inside, a sort of faux olde worlde and chintz if you can imagine such a thing! The food took forever to arrive, starters taking roughly 30 minutes and main course another 20. When the food arrived it again looked pleasing but had no substance to it. I chose the Lasagne, which looked appetising, however the sauce was inspid and the pasta very tough. My wife has the Duck with Red Cabbage, and was appalled at the fact that the duck appeared to have been cremated, and was therefore also inedible. I decided the best recourse would be to speak to someone, and in fairness the waitress, Leah, went off to find a manager and promptly arrived back with Pete, who described himself as the assistant manager, even though he barely looked old enough to tie his shoelaces!!! He was incredibly apologetic, but he was sincere with it, and did come back to us to offer us complimentary desserts and coffee's, which I felt were the highlights of the evening. Their Peach Cheesecake is, according to my wife "to die for" and the Choc Fudge Skewers very original. I cannot fault the staff that were serving me, however I took offence to who I presume is the landlord who was belittling a member of the bar staff, and making jokes about her appearance, which i found very distasteful, and not in the least professional. My advice is this, eat there if you really have to!!!!
