Hi In the very near future i will possibly be taking over the head chef role at the frozen mop in Mobberley and reading through your comments and concerns i can see there has been a number of mistakes made in the past and by the sound of it its mostly the food, well i have been a head chef since 1993, Ive worked all over Europe, hotels and restaurants, and i make this pledge, you will be looked after on my watch, if anything is wrong or your not happy, ask to see me personally and i promise to take care of you, once you return to the frozen mop from when i get appointed, you will have a experience to remember and you will return. Thanks Gary

Nice place, friendly staff however my friend Geoff and I sent our steaks back to the kitchen as they were uneatable. The chips were of the cheapest frozen variety and the crumble on my sweet resembled sawdust. The Manager did not have the courtesy to make an appearance but our bill was adjusted accordingly. We returned home for a take away - much better value for money.

I have known The Frozen Mop from back in the very early Brewers Fayre days when I was a waitress there, and now working for a leading hotel and restaurant company, was intrigued after hearing all rave reviews from friends about how the Mop had undergone an amazing transformation and was beautiful inside and out. We visited one evening as a treat for my brother and partner having just had their first baby, and I must say there was the wow factor when I walked through the door, beautiful furnishings and decor, and I must admit, very friendly attentive and polite staff but they would have to be in the location of Mobberley as that standard of service is a must to get the locals through the door. All was well, not too busy, ordered the food and seemed fine. I had the tuna with noodles, which at the time I did think was undercooked but thought thats maybe the way it was meant to be in the day of modern cooking, the other 2 meals were quite good, but my brothers ' stone baked pizza' had a soggy base and he was not particularly impressed. Anyway, as we just wanted a quick meal, and not to spolit the occasion by having to complain, I did start to question whether the restaurant was owned by a chain, with no brand name to be seen it looked like it could have been an independant. Well, later that night I was very ill with stomach ache and sickness and can only blame the tuna. Thinking how disappointed I was that a lovely restaurant, gorgeous insode and seemingly good staff can be let down by the food. I have now discovered it is part of a chain and it had made me think again before returning, think they need to get the food right as soon as they can to avoid the slippery slope as everything else was perfect.

My freind and myself stumbled across thr Frozen Mop while have a drive in the country. Upon arrival we were told that we could not sit in the main restaurant as it would be closing at 6pm. The waitress did tell me that I was still able to order food as long as we ate it in the bar area. We both had the soup followed by friend having the rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and veg of the day, and I had the rib eye steak with a lea and perrins butter on the top accompanied with french fries. The soup was fine but the main course came to the table cold, the steak was so cold tht the butter did not melt! My friends dinner also came cold with the yorkshire pudding being one of the worst she had ever had. I also had to go and fetch my own cutlery as it was not brought with the food. This was the first time I had eaten there and I will not go back, the presentation of the establishment was excellent it's a shame that the food did not come up to the same standards.

Myself and my husband visited the Frozen Mop with our 2 children aged 4 and 8 months with the intention of having lunch. On arrival we asked if meals were being served in the bar area, which they were. We chose a table in a quiet area out of the way and my husband went to order some drinks at the bar and to ask them if they would mind heating up some baby food. We asked for it to be warmed in the micrwave for 1 min. My husband returned with the drinks and informed me that they are not allowed by law to heat baby food in a microwave they could only do it with warm water. Now as prob most of you know it takes forever to warm anything over hot water especially if it has been refrigerated beforehand. The barmaid immediatley had an attitude towards my husband and made us feel that we were a complete pain. We had no choice we asked for it to be heated in water, by this time my baby was becoming very impatient. The bar maid returned to our table with a stainless steel container half filled with scolding hot water......? Where is the mentality in that?, they wont heat a small container in the microwave but they are prepared to bring boiling water out onto the table and place it in front of a lively 4 year old and baby. The staff were extremely unfriendly and we were mde to feel very unwelcome because we had small children. There was no way we were going to eat in this resturant so we left immediately. This is not a friendly pub and I would not recommend it.

Having booked the table to eat for 8.30 for a family birthday meal and arriving on time to be seated by a female member of staff a power cut of the local are brought chaos to the restaurant, while we accept that the power cut was outside of there control (although they were able to charge for the drinks consumed)never at any time during our 30 minute stay were we updated on the likely outcome of the power cut, in fact we were not approached at all. Having given up and left at 9.00pm we were to late to eat anywhere else. Thanks for a ruined birthday and evening. No longer a customer.

My wife and I along with our daughter (18) visited the Frozen Mop after I spotted it whilst driving through Mobberley, the building itself is impressive and eyecatching, inside you are greeted with a smart clean and modern bar area. The serving staff all appeared to be young student types wearing smart black T shirts and blue jeans with long white aprons, all were attentive polite and non pushy. The restaurant area is clean and modern and there are several seating options, the menu is well presented with a good selection of food without being too much, we had the soup to start and steak as a main course, the soup was potato and leek, very tastey, thick and came with complimentary bread, the main course was well cooked and the only complaint I have is the chips were frozen not home made and came in a small bowl however the options of boiled or baked will be taken on our next visit. Overall a very pleasent afternoon meal in very nice surroundings with good staff looking after us. The cost for three adults with a round of drinks was £64. Well worth a visit.
