Has always been a great pub, good crowd of very assorted people but mainly working class. Had a reputation for drugs and debauchery years ago - bit of an old hippy bar - but not so much now, young people haven't got the class anymore! Rarely seen a fight in there, normally very relaxed and easygoing - safe for strangers and generally very tolerant, but you wouldn't take the piss in there. Not a pick up joint as a rule, not that sort of pub. Once upon a time was the Best Pub in the World. Going in there was like going to a party where (almost) anything went.
