Best rates for a Local Hotel

Known to the locals as "The Spivs", this small pub is big on atmosphere and affords many opportunities for lively conversation, fuelled by some of the best kept regular and guest beers in the neighbourhood. Run by Lucy and Regan Morris since Mike's much-lamented death last year, it has run beer festivals annually and has featured in the Good Beer Guide since God was a boy. The addition, since the smoking ban, of a charming rear courtyard with shelter and heaters for hopeless addicts also makes for a superb garden in summer. A fine range of wines for the Ladies and a function room upstairs complete this attractive, if quirky package. If you particularly like music, television or the company of children while you drink, please give this place a miss
