It was the second week in January. I needed to stay in Scarborough for two nights. I 'phoned a half dozen hotels in Scarborough to check prices. I was told by this hotel "Two nights in January, that will be £30". I thought that a very good price, so I told them I was coming. I turned up at the hotel at about 10.00 p.m. and was asked for £30 a night. I explained that I was quoted £30 for two nights but was told that if I did not like it, I should go elsewhere. I should have left but, as it was so late, I did not want to risk being stranded. That was a foolish decision. The hotel was disgusting. Dirty, poor decor, noisy i.e. I could hear the owner's family having a great time until about one I n the morning. There were hairs in the bath. The breakfast was every bit as bad as others have stated. I did not touch it. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. If I had had more presence of mind, I should just have left when I realised on the doorstep that I was being scammed. p.s. The Chatsworth's ‘hotel’ guide, which I found in my room, claims that "Guests scored us better than these quality hotels: Scarborough Grand Hotel .... www.activehotels.com.” Not only is this claim absurd, but the Chatsworth does not appear on that website.

Good Points: Comfortable and good size bed Bad Points: Lack of proper wardrobe, No cooked breakfast. General Review: Stay in hotel was disappointing. When we arrived there was no soap in the dispenser and the shower head bracket was broken - both were reported but no action had been taken by the time we left. Although tea/coffee making facilities were available, there was no where to sit and drink it; room too small to accommodate table and chairs and the kettle was on the window ledge.

Cannot be less impressed with this B&B (please dont consider it a hotel). The room offered for my wife, baby and I was far too small - though suggested by the management. It was poorly kept (read dirty) and lacked any clothing storage, and offered only a disguting kettle and snowy tv. The 'view' was of a neighbours yard and the service area to the rear. The Chatsworth appears to pride itself on only offering a continental breakfast which consisted of DIY Toast and Tea. Management was rarely seen and key was collected by following a unknown guy into the kitchen! Please book elsewhere... Not fanmily friendly dispite claims to the contrary.
