We had a party of 8, when we visited this Inn at lunchtime on Tuesday.
Typical old style (but none the worse for it) furnishings with much added interest with memorabilia relating to the old RAF station of Hawkinge nearby - although there is also a proper museum nearby to visit.
The bar staff were friendly and helpful and there were enough customers to make the place feel busy without being overcrowded.
Beer was Shepherd Neame Master Brew and Amber Ale and was well kept and served at a proper cellar temperature.
Lunch was well cooked from mainly local ingredients and was enjoyed by all; we were not stinted on the size of portions and many of our party had no room for a sweet.
The reviewer would willingly return to this well run establishment.
