Just been out tonight for a meal at the Dyke Neuk. The restaurant wasnt that busy, so we decided to have a bar meal instead, which was busy due to a fund raising event. I had the game casserole, and my partner had the pork chop of the special board with grain mustard mash.My casserole was divine, really tasted homemade and fresh, and my partner was delighted with his pork chops. Lovely pub atmosphere, excellent service and reasonably priced good food... we will be back!!!

I looked forward with some anticipation to a meal in the restaurant. What a let down. Saturday night, the middle of summer and my wife and son were the only diners that night. That should have set the alarm bells ringing. The food was greatly disappointing, over cooked lamb, overcooked tuna, a very poor cut of surloin and vegetables which had looked, and tasted as if they had been microwaved to death. Yes, this was a meal to remember, a once in a lifetime experience! Never again.

Visiting this pub for a bar meal we were initially disappointed since there was very little suitable for vegetarians. The option was cheese salad or cheese salad. However, the staff could not have been more accomodating and we were served a delicious risotto.Top marks to the chef. The meat eater in our party was also well satisfied with his traditional pork roast.Lovely atmosphere in this pub too.Go there!

I stayed here for 3 nights while doing some research at Woodhorn Museum . The pub itself is great , staff very friendly and excellent food , as for the B&B side , again excellent and good value for money . Views from room were lovely and it really is a tranquil and peaceful place to spend a few days . I would definately recommend this as a base for northumberland and its coast .

We'd seen the photo's and hoped the Dyke Neuk would be as good as it looked. It was - and more. The room we had was imaculate, extremely comfortable, TV and tea/coffee making facilitiesand it came with superb views of the countryside. We stayed for 5 days, the room was cleaned daily and the food - absolutely brilliant and served hot everytime. If you have the full English Breakfast you won't want to eat till the evening, there are other lighter options and breakfast was so relaxing in lovely surroundings. The food in the resteraunt is also top draw! Excellent service al round. In the bar there is a lovely welcoming atmosphere, full of locals who make it so easy to relax. As for the staff, so friendly (and I mean friendly) nothing was too much, they went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect and it was. When looking for a place to stay in Northumberland we were not quite sure if the Dyke Neuk was too far south. As it turned out it was the perfect location, only 5 minutes to the A1 and in no time at all we were able to get to Holy Island, Bamburgh, Alnwick in the North and Hadrians Wall and the Metro Centre in the South and much more. And the scenery is spectacular which made driving a joy - seriously the scenery is hypnotic and driving around was so relaxing. We will be returning - I can not recommend the Dyke Neuk highly enough, it ticked all our boxes and we have recommended it to all our friends. You will not be disappointed. Glad to see this pub back to it's old friendly ways!! Went down hill in recent years and we no longer used it as a local. Now we are there most weeks and have never had cause for complain. The meals are always hot and tasty and I have sampled many off the menu, highly recommend the gammon!. Sunday lunches are excellent especially the yorkshire pudding! Staff always friendly and accomodating and the friendly atmosphere is back where it belongs!! Definately recommend a visit.

We visited for lunch in the bar, the staff we helpful & pleasant, unfortunately the food was not. My partner had fish & chips, the fish tasteless and batter saturated in cooking oil. I had the 'ultimate burger' the meat was hard, over cooked and fatty with no taste. I'm not a fussy eater but did not finish my meal, it was revolting. Our children had kids meals which appear to be the safest option. We will not be returning.

Lovely pub with great restaurant. Had a great Sunday lunch, the food was hot, tasty and plenty on the plate. Value for money. Desserts could be a littler better though. Restaurant very smart with proper table linen.Staff fantastic, very attentive and pleasant. Would recommend.

The food in here is lovely, never used to like it but it is under new managment and was recommended to us to give it another go. I have been a few times lately and most things are lovely, my boyfriend loves the chicken curry on the main menu but it is always worth seeing what it on the specials board. The food tasted fantastic and was served quite quickly The price is also quite reasonable.

What a gem of a pub. A well put together menu to suit all taste buds and pockets. After a long time gazing at all the yummy food opted for the mussels in garlic and a tender piece of steak. Mussels delicious and the steak melted in your mouth. Deserts looked fab too but could not manage another bite - a def must to add on everyones list of eating out places in the North. Fantastic Food - Fantastic Service - Fantastic Place !

Excellent visit to a nice country pub. Although the menu could be brought up to date a little, it was done very well. I had steak while my friends had a mixed grill and a scampi. We all had a delicious tomato and lentil soup for starters and thourghly enjoyed our main courses. It was quite quiet and after the meal we had a couple of drinks and chatted to the fit barman James. Although the only member of staff, he was very friendly. We had'nt been for ages, we will be back soon!

We arrived at 12.30pm on a sunny Saturday, with a few people sitting eating outside, however we ordered our food just in time before the rush. We both started with tomato soup which was light and accompanied with some fresh multi grain bread. There were no vegetarian options on the lunch main course menu, I was offered the evening menu and chose cheese pancakes in a cheese sauce, the pancakes (crepes) were lovely and the cheese sauce light thank goodness, because the cheese in the pancakes was very solid and could have benefitted from the addition of tomotoes or another ingredient to lift the stodginess, it was served with a bland salad with no dressing but with lovely home cooked chips. My partner had steak and mushroom pie with a wonderful thick crust, served with a selection of fresh vegetables which he thoroughly enjoyed.
