well where to start, this pub is the best one for miles around. you never know what is going to happen. one day you will go in and there is nobody in so you end up playing dominoes with the bar staff then the next time you go in you can't get moved. full of banter and laughs and the occasional opinion. and their is always and event to prepare for from the hay show in february, BBQ's all summer to the summer fair. currently everyone is preparing for the easter egg competition with BBQ to follow and of course the beer will be flowing. for a quaint little counrty pub in the middle of nowhere they do know how to pull in the crowds. and the locals, what a bunch. you get the obsessive dominoe players in one corner, the card players in the other and the people in the middle, well they like to just have a laugh and a bit craic. then as the night wears on only the die hard 'gater's' are left, this is the time when the bests laughs are had. you may see a variety of things from people sleeping, dancing (with and without adjustable pole) and generally laughing until they nearly wet themselves. if you ever go passed you will probably miss it but when you do you will enjoy it. for quieter times try earlier cos the locals seem to flood in later on, it is the kind of place that caters for everyone, from romantic teens to even more romantic oldies. come in, you never know you might just enjoy it!
