Went to the crown today with a large group of friends and it was a joke! I have never been so talked down. They took over an hour to get the food to us and took them 15 minutes to come right! The food was well over cooked I had a burger and it was burned! The staff were horrendous and the manager was disrespectful! We were told to be out by 8 and that they had 'told us this on the phone' this was not the case but we thought okay it won't take too long! Some of us hasn't finished eating when we were removed from the table! This resturant is a joke the best thing is that it was cheap and you could see why! Oh and all through the meal the manager was looking at us and saying things to the other staff about us! She and the place is a joke!

I took my wife and 12yo daughter to The Crown in Brownhills for a midweek meal. The environment is very pleasant, my pint was in perfect condition and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a disappointment was the food- everything is of low quality and presented in a 'basic' on the plate manner. The meals are '2 for 1' so I guess we shouldn’t expect a great deal but its clear to see the food is as cheaply sourced as possible. For example my 'Great British Combo' at £10.95 consisted of bland chips, cooked frozen peas, three deep fried onion rings, two cheap and nasty deep fried sausages (the type you get from a frozen food store, 20 in a bag for a couple of quid and are soft and spongy when cooked) and a small steak with the chewing consistency of a cricket ball. The portions were also small, a blessing perhaps. If all you're after is a quick bite at the end of a busy day its worth considering, however Morrisons cafe serve the same standard of food at a lower price.

My birthday, supposed to be a special ocassion,..well the service was good but after waiting about 40minutes for the food to arrive ,along with three Hungary grandchildren, it did arrive and we were very , very disappointed!, the words bland, and cold come into mind nothing like the description on the menu some of it missing altogether! Tough steak (the most expensiive on the menu,) I could go on, the last time we will be visiting the Crown !!!

As other reviews, I too have visited this establishment on many previous occasions and been very satisfied. Unfortunatley however, on my last visit, when we attempted to go for a quiet meal with family, we were treated like criminals. We were accused of trying to buy alcohol illegaly for my 20 year old daughter, by the extremely rude and unprofessional manageress. When our meals arrived one of the steaks that was served to us was 'off' so much so, that you could smell it from the other side of the table. At the end of our meal, I asked to speak to the manageress to complain about the way in which I felt we had been treated and ask for her name and the area managers name, but were refused both. At which point, naturally, I was extremely dismayed and was drawn in to an argument with the manageress, who felt it necessary to point, shout and slam her hand in front of my face. She also stated that she had actually tried the steak that had been sent back and there was nothing wrong with it (does she make a habit of eating food that has been left by customers???!!) Later on, the member of our party that was served the bad steak, telephoned The Crown again to speak to the manageress and again, was refused her details. And, unbelievibly, we were accused of criminal damage on one of the tables because a glass with some half melted ice cubes in was knocked over on our table!!! I have never, ever been treated in this way whilst dining out and I too will most certainly tell as many people as I know about our bad experience at The Crown.

This pub usually offers good food and reasonable value however today my partner and I have been spoken to in a rude and unprofessional manner by a waitress who apparently had been employed by this establishment for 10 years! It is a pity that in this time she has not learn t that customer satisfaction and care is paramount in the public arena. In fact she actually argued with my partner and I regarding a waiting list. As I have stated I have visited this establishment on many occasion's and have noted, reserved signs on the tables but never known a waiting list. The waitress was argumentative and even muttered as she departed. I will be telling my friends and family not to visit this public house again.
