Good Points: Food was superb.
Bad Points: We opted for superior room but were placed in The Rafter!
General review: Excellent

Booked on line but pictures on line did not give a true representation of the place. Although the hotel had clean rooms they were very small and our bathroom had not been done up since the 80's. Everything just seemed a little dated and the room was slightly claustrophobic. The main dining restaurant where breakfast was served had decent food but again we got the feeling we were in a retirement village - no atmosphere, dated furniture and no music. We decided not to eat there in the evenings as did not want to risk it. We found other places in the area which served dinner and also had rooms to stay in and on investigation found that they were charging a similar price but the rooms seemed modern and well fitted out (looked at photos on line). I would not say that the grapevine was a horrible experience but it was definitely not worth the £130 a night which we paid - perhaps if it was around £80 we would have been impressed and happy with the interior the way it was.
