I visited this restaurant last summer and loved every second of it the meal was lovely and the atmosphere, so i returned again this year and it was terrible. I believe it has changed hands since last summer. There was 6 of us and out of the 6 of us 4 complained about the food it was undercooked and cold and when we asked for it to be cooked properly we had attitude from a foreign waitress, she took the food back and it was put it the microwave! We complained again and got told we were wrong and we wanted to cause trouble and the food was up to standard of that at a fine dining restaurant!!The chef was abusive, I heard him say 'Where the f@ck are they!' meaning us because we were complaining about his food! We will not be returning to this shabby place again shame really because it was lovely last year!!

Nice welcome and a great setting, the menu is ok a bit meat and pizza biased. But a couple of fish and veg dishes! The barman was a little terse and the drinks took quite a while to reach the table(10mins) funny because in one way it was good staff said and done all the right things but all in a very robotic way, like a pizza hut or a mid American hamburger clone chain! A bit like the food, nothing you could get upset with but also nothing you you could get exited about! I asked if I could use there wi- fi connection as there was no phone signal. And I was told no , as there was a security risk!!? I asked the chef owner as it was a important transaction that had to be done then! He said that hey it's great to get away from every thing! I commented he had 3 strong wifi signals in the building and it's not exactly the outback! He was rather rude. My point is it wouldn't hurt to help me out, I lost out on a deal, there are not a lot of good places to go in the area, and somewhere with a slight bit more stye stands out! But they operate on a big chain ethos, which feels very wrong!

i visited the kings arms for a carvery on the above date, outside was a sign saying how good the chef was,i ordered from the carvery pork which on closer inspection was gammon, the roast potatoes i know were yesterdays reheats as were the carrots, the yorkshire puddings were huge but were very dry and i suspect were also the days before my wife was also of the same opinion, hasten to add we did not stay for a sweet,i did express my disappointment at the time,no reduction was offered , therefor i will not be returning, so you have been warned

We visited the Kings Arms whilst touring around Somerset about 2 years ago and discovered a great place so we thought we would try it again only to find that it had been changed. The orignal character had been removed after a make over, where was the suit of armour guarding the doorway? It has been made too modern for a 15th century building, all the oak beams painted white. The food and service was still good though and the staff friendly.

We recently called in at the pub, after spotting the play equipment outside for children. When we entered we were given a warm welcome, and the selection of food was excellent. My husband had whole bream with salsa verde and tatties, I chose the line caught haddock with home made chips and peas and my son had the organic chicken nuggets which came with home made chips and salad. The range of food to chose from was excellent and was pleased to see a selection of dishes for children using organic produce. The food was superb, would highly recommend it and will return.

When we arrived for lunch we were greeted cheerfuly at the door and shown where to go. The barman was friendly and efficient,as was the waitress. We have been following walks in a book 'waterside walks near Bristol and Bath'.All the walks end up at a pub, Saterdays ended up at yours.I think the pub has changed since the book was written. As soon as we saw the menue we thought we were in for a treat, and so it was. We sat in the gardenand the waitress bought us those lovely huge white napkins and shiny cutlery. My husband had the smoked trout with beetroot and horseradish sauce which he enjoyed alot.I had the haddock, chips and peas which were exquisite. The fish was moist and the batter light and crispy, the chips just perfect, and the peas cooked just right. The presentation was brilliant-The fish seemed to be leaping over the pile of chipsand I loved the little cups of peas and tartar sauce. All in all the perfect end to our walk-we felt really looked after.I wish it was nearer to where I live so I could come more often!
