Tavistock Goose Fair...Here the good points...There where 2 geese on show, a man was selling olives and nuts, and Riverford had a stand, it's in Tavistock, a lovely town.... but that's about it....The Bad points...Nothing but dozens of nasty stalls selling absolute junk, cheap clothes, sweets, burgers nothing to do with tradition, no organic farmers food, no homemade , no arts and crafts...will never be wasting my time ever again..come on council people in charge lets see less rubbish and a more quality event...Please! ending on a good note..Tavistock town centre and pannier and farmers market is great and worth visiting...An honest review!

i have been coming to goose fair almost my whole life! it does not always rain, don't bother taking a brolly it's just an extra thing to carry! you can buy them there for about 50p!it is a great day out for everyone especially the local school children as they get the day off! if you need to get closer to the town centre, there is a small fee for parking in tavistock college car park. The rides are great and suitable for everyone, and there are plenty of stalls all the way through the town for those not so keen on the rides!Come to Goose Fair!

I love goosey fair, my tea towel collection grows each year at a very reasonable price. Everybody enjoys it, even the local lads from the gym come out to play all buff with their protein shakes in hand, it makes my day!

"I have been to the goose fair most years since i have lived down here (21yrs). I love looking at the different stalls and i buy some of my christmas presents there. I would recommend using the park and ride as it gets very busy. I now have grandchildren who love the fair rides as there is a variety of them to suit all ages. The council do a good job as the next day you would not think it had been as there is no mess or anything left untoward. Can't wait for the next one"

"I have also been going to this event every year for the past 20 odd years. It is an ok day out if you want to buy tat, get your feet trampled on, and have your ankles ripped apart by merciless mothers with pushchairs. Ok, maybe I am being a bit harsh here, but it does get very busy, and the busier it gets the less patience the general public in the crowds seem to have. The park and ride is a good idea, but if you are using the one on the Gunnislake to tavistock side be prepaired to pay £5 for parking in a boggy farmers field and a one minute bus ride. A little steep but as there is not much alternative you have to pay it. Right. Onto the good stuff... Umm.. your kids will love the fair. You can get cheap wrapping paper for Xmas. umm.. thats about it really. Oh, and if you are going to go, take a brolly. It ALWAYS rains. Every year. Without fail. ( I think I am turning into a bloody old cynic as I get older)"
