I had an appointment to see the practice nurse at central health Centre today at 12.50. Due to the craiglynn roundabout being busy i was a couple of minutes late. I arrived at the health centre at 12.53 and apologised to the receptionist for being a couple of minutes late. I checked in and I was told that the Practice Nurse goes for her lunch at 1pm and therefore might not be able to see me. The recpetionist then proceeded to phone the practice nurses room, but could not get an answer. Another appointment was then made for me for 08/08/08 as it appeared she had gone for her lunch. I think this is ridiculous! I was 3 minutes late and already the practice nurse had gone for her lunch, i could understand if i had been 10 or 20mins late but 3 minutes? I hadnt booked a double appointment therefore it was obvious I wasnt having a procedure done. It was a simple blood pressure check and repeat prescription with a couple of questions! I am totally disgusted that patients are being turned away like this, especially when the health centre was extremely quiet with only two patients in the waiting room. I now have to have these questions on my mind for another day!
