Was very dissapointed.Rooms look nothing like the photos.
Shower leaked, door leading to courtyard didnt lock properly.Curtains didnt touch the floor so when daylight started the room was very light, not what you want a 5am.Door to the adjoing room wasnt locked.
Inlaws room was very outdated, had a hole in the wall in the bathroom, very dark bedroom.Free coffee, tea wasnt restocked.Their shower sprayed all over the floor, mould around the taps.
Only good thing was the staff where nice, polite and the food in the new bar was excellent.Ive stayed at cheaper hotels and had better rooms

Good Points: The accommodation was very comfortable except that the shower had no visible controls and for an elderly person was difficult.
Bad Points: The restaurant left much to be desired. Service was poor at dinner and I didn't receive what I had ordered. This was rectified but the mistake shouldn't have happened because I made my needs perfectly clear and saw them written down. At breakfast my poached eggs were like bullets, too salty and being served on a tiny disc of toast was ridiculous. The tea and coffee were nearly cold.
General review: I had a comfortable room, which was the important thing but I feel the chefs need to concentrate more on quality cooking and less on making the food look pretty.

Good Points: Clean, comfortable hotel in middle of refurbishment but no disruption to service. Friendly staff, goood food, good value.
General review: If you are visiting the New Forest, Hillier Gardens or National Trust properties this is a good base. As a 3 star hotel it gives good value and the service was personal and friendly. Room service is available from the dining room menu and it is not a restricted menu - better meal and service than I have experienced in 4 star hotels in the region and abonus for guests who are travelling alone.
