Reviews of The Castle Inn, Okehampton

Best rates for a Local Hotel

What was once a fantastic retreat in this gorgeous west Dartmoor village, unfortunately is now a bit of a hovvle! And a very expensive one at that! We stayed for two nights and were unimpressed! The bedrooms badly need updating, the bathrooms more so and the food was unexciting and bland, but very expensive! Nice pub with good choice of ale (although were out of Pinot for the wife and J20's for the kids)! Bar staff seemed disinterested in us and the landlord was at best droll, at worst obnoxious! There are many other much nicer pubs and small hotels jostling for business in the area and I feel that the current owners of the Castle Inn are not doing this idyllic inn justice! Very disappointed!
