This place is most odd. Its on a trading estate that is just one road that loops, so you will find it without too much trouble.
The Metro Inn (Teeside) is a factory unit which thinks it a hotel, with loads of parking.
The rooms are all divided up into 8ft by 12 foot areas with a (hard) double bed and a (hard) bunk above, a TV, a window, thermostatic heater, and triangular sink and table, to make the most of the space.
The room has a PIN code system, which is quite easy to use.
There was not enough towels and soap, so we had to ask for more, which we got, with no problem.
The bedding was clean, if a little light, for the weather.
The shower and loo are just around the corner from the room and they self clean, so they tended to be wet all the time and you have to get dressed to go to either and slippers is also a good idea.
Metro Inn clean and basic and no frills, more posh that camping but not your Novotel. Three adults spent two nights there (getting there at 1am from London on the first night).
The staff are friendly, informative and helpful. In the reception area there is a soft drinks /chocolate / crisps machine, sink, kettle & two microwaves, so you can heat up your own food and drink if you want to.
There is a new big 24 /7 ASDA just along the road, with a food eating area.
We paid £55 for the three of us for two nights!!!! Others were quoting around £170 for 3 adults with breakfast!!!
So we eat at ASDA, both mornings and this came to a total of £75, (Metro Inn £55 for the two nights & ASDA £20 for six English Breakfasts and endless refills of drinks) so …..a great way to visit the area, explore, experience a Metro Inn and save a fortune.
Its really good to know that Metro Inns offer such good value for money, and I may use them again.

General review: My friend fell ill during the night and the staff and other guests were very very helpful and I'd like to thank them for all their help
