We are looking for a nice local pub which sells good Sunday Roasts, today we tried the Duke William in Haxey as recommended by a friend that had eaten there on a week day (not a roast). They serve a carvery for £6.99, so thought it seemed ideal. Good Points - The beef was a nice cut and moist, i'm afraid this was about the only good point. The roast potatoes were not home cooked, they were like powder in the middle with a very crunchy shell that you couldnt cut. There was a choice of cabbage, carrots and mushy peas for vegetable. Mushy peas!! with a sunday dinner!! The yorkshire were the frozen perfectly round design, the gravy bland, but worst had to be the parsnips that tasted liked they had been cooked in sherry rather than honey. The waitress was very timid and didnt seemed to know much about the food or what starters were on offer, although she was a sweet girl. Sorry wouldnt return ever for a sunday dinner.
