Upon arrival staff checking in had no personality. Decor very tired and in need of repair. Room basic, clean but furniture in need of replacement. Breakfast expensive, tables had not been cleaned before being reset, crumbs on the table. No welcome to your table, crockery old and cups cracked, crockery old and worn. Drinks very expensive. As this was booked as a surprise found it frustrating that I had been earlier in the day to pay for room and breakfast and the docile person behind reception proceeded to point out how much it costs, I told him it was a surprise but still continued. Would never revisit or recommend

had a nice walk around the garden centre which has a wide variety of items for sale, only disappointing thing was the cafe. I found it to be inefficient and lax. I was the only one in at the time, staff were too busy eating themselves in the kitchen to serve. I left disgruntled.
