The house today is basically the same as the house the Brontės knew. (The later extension for a butcher's shop is at present used for a sales table with postcards, books and local honey). The owners, novelist Barbara Whitehead and fellow-writer Bernard Mayston, are gradually restoring the interior to the Regency period when it was the home of genius. Tourists enjoy seeing how the project has progressed since their last visit.

One visitor to the Birthplace said, "To visit both this house and the parsonage at Haworth deepens and enriches the Brontė experience," and this has been the general opinion.
