Hat Works is the UK's first museum dedicated to hats and the hatting industry

It occupies an excellent trading position that is highly visible from all the main routes into Stockport. It is located on a main thoroughfare (the A6 Wellington Road South), opposite the bus staion, close to the railway station and only two minutes walk from Stockport's Merseyway shopping centre.

The Hat Works is an imaginative and interesting day out for not just the general visitor, but also for school parties and specialist researchers. It has a comprehensive range of visitor facilities including reception, two audio visual theatres, early hatting workshops, hatters cottage, hat block making workshop, working machinery, hat display galleries, temporary exhibition area, schools and community education room, multi-media suite, wheelchair access, passenger lift and toilets, millinery studios, shop and internet café.

Hat Works houses a fascinating display of hats from contemporary textile and millinery designers.
